Imagine a world in which Alchemy is not only possible, but used frequently. Alchemy, though, is a science, and with all sciences there are laws that must be followed. Welcome to the anime, Full Metal Alchemist. The story begins about two brothers, Alphonse and Edward Elric. Ever since they were young they had practiced the science of alchemy. You follow their journey of being alchemists and their quest to regain that which they have lost. Their father was a well recognized alchemist, which is probably where their knack for it comes from. However, when they were young their father left, and they remained in the care of their mother. One day their mother died, and in their innocence and ignorance, they attempted what was forbidden, Human Transmutation, which has never been successfully carried out by previous alchemists. Instead it brings misfortune, this is why it has been forbidden.
A conflict which started between the Earth Alliance [aka Naturals] and Zaft [aka Coordinators], which started because of economic troubles was clearly undecided. The two sides had no other choice, and war broke out. 11 months after this war started is when the timeline of Gundam SEED all begins. Heliopolis; a colony which is a 'neutral' colony was dragged into the war while Earth hid their secret mobile suits here. ZAFT mobile suit force raids Heliopolis and thus capturing all but 1 of the Gundams. This series is truely one that has interesting twists and turns and seems to always have new things that will hit you out of no where. Character deveolpement is something that Gundam Seed seems to have plenty of... the characters are involved in various relationships and seem to not care about 'fighting' in general compared to some other series.
Kaname Chidori is your average teen in modern Japan. At least, that's what she thought before a boy named Souske Sagara began following her around, acting like a totally paranoid military freak! Things start to be explained when her school trip is hijacked and taken to North Korea, where Kaname is kidnapped and told that she is a Whispered. the Whispered are genetic anomalies, beings born with vast amounts of incredibly advanced knowlegde of math, science, and technology. Souske comes to rescue her, revealing that he is a trained specialist in the secret military organization MITHRIL, sworn to protect the world and guard the Whispered from being misused by terrorists. Now with the knowledge of what she is and what Souske was sent to do, can she make her way through high school in one piece?
Ichigo Kurosaki, along with his family, runs a local clinic. Ichigo has the unusual ability to see poltergeists but rather than react with surprise he merely sees it as an annoyance. Ichigo helps those when he cares but can't bring himself to care enough... until one fateful day. A small, mysterious woman appears on duty inside his room, a Soul Reaper known as Rukia. Soon enough Ichigo and Rukia get formal in the oddest of ways and in such untimely matter the losses begin. The Kurosaki family is soon attacked. This leads Ichigo on his first step to accepting the role and responsibility's a Soul Reaper must uphold.
Twelve-year-old Mitsuki Koyama was devastated when she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor of the throat. She had made a promise to the boy she loves that she would one day become a singer, but her illness made singing impossible. To make matters even worse, two Shinigami, Takuto and Meroko, appeared to Mitsuki and informed her that she only had one year left to live. This news provides an even greater motivation for Mitsuki to fulfill her dreams, and with a little bit of divine intervention, she begins her quest to become a professional singer so she can be reunited with Eichi before time runs out.
